Kate Winslet says it’s fine that she’s without a husband – namely this time Sam Mendes because, I mean, really – and she says that her singletonness is quite empowering. That’s power with an m. And that’s after seven years. High five, sistah!

Whatever you say, don’t call her lonely or she’ll punch you in the face.

Kate, who finished the TV series Mildred Pierce, with director Steven Soderbergh‘s ‘Contagion’ (released Oct 2011 here) and ‘Movie 23′ (a bunch of short film segments) all finished, is currenting working on ‘Carnage’, where she plays Nancy. Who’s Nancy? I have no idea (I think she’s a mother in a parent drama) but it is Roman Polanski at the helm so obviously no qualms there. She co-stars with Jodie Foster and Christoph Waltz so look the hell out in 2012 for that one.

Is Winslet dating male moddle Louis Dowler? If so, that’d be smart. Why buy the bull when you can get the… oh wait. You know what I mean.

In Vague Magazine, Winslet says that being alone is “very, very weird flooring and exposing position to be in when you’re just not used to it.” If she wants to see weird flooring, she needs to come over to mine.
