Gosh, where to begin? Okay, the indy cutie of 1995 ‘Bang’s director Ash Baron-Cohen, (yes, he’s his cousin), is taking his latest low-budge feature ‘The Blind Bastards Club’ down to Argentina/Brazil to shoot. Labelled a fierce romance and a comedy – okay? – it stars Lenny Kravitz and Mickey Rourke as part of a gang of guys and gals who ‘live on the edge’ despite being blind. These are people who just live live live, you know, jumping out of planes, fighting, pretending they’re not blind and, I guess, bumping into things and getting great parking places.
One assumes Kravitz will play Jake, the leader. Mickey will have some wise, older dude role. Rosario Dawson was mentioned as the girl but then silence. The budget is $5m which will go further in South America than elsewhere.
And here we thought aged beef was usually shipped from Argentina?
