So we all know that Madonna‘s nut-cracking thighs flew into Mexico City on Monday to open her new Hard Candy Fitness Gym, but apparently regulars might not be able to pump gristle for long, as local officials are threatening to close it.

We find this a tad hard to believe (because WHO builds a gym in a foreign country without the relevant legal permission?!), but apparently the club is missing a security plan and a land use permit, authorities said yesterday (1 Dec).

The gym’s in-house team has now been given until Friday (3 Dec) to obtain the required permit or there will be no more sweaty fajitas on mats doing their downward facing dogs, says Demetrio Sodi, the Chief of the Miguel Hidalgo Municipality where the gym is located.

“If they don’t have a land use permit, they will not be able to operate,” he told Spanish-language station Televisa. Or channel 9 as we like to call it (remember the Fast Show? HA!!)

Hard Candy Mexico City is the first of ten planned fitness ventures Madge and her cutlets are planning throughout South America, Europe, and Asia, with manager Guy Oseary and Mark Mastrov, the founder of 24 Hour Fitness.

Speaking of why she loves going down mehico way, Madge told Milenio Newspaper:

“I’ve come to Mexico for years to do research, I love Mexican culture, architecture, food, music and art.

“A lot of places I go to are considered dangerous whether that’s Tel Aviv or Rio, that never stops me from going somewhere to put on a show. I’m not hindered by that. I have good security and I’m not worried about it”.

Tough bitch. We love her.
