Remember Winona Ryder rocked up in this busty frock for the Black Swan premiere at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this year?

Well here is her latest take on ‘interesting’ (sans boobs) from the New York premiere of the movie last night..

I know the androgynous look is on-trend yet again, but this suit would have looked so much better with an injection of girlie glam, like a sexy sheer nude or boho blouse – or in contrast, a bold colour shirt, if you must go for mannish.

And oh my eyes! Those boots! Oy vey! Heels Winona..HEELS! Every woman knows you never do fugly black boots with a suit this sharp.

It’s like she was channelling one of those creepy happy clapper preachers in an evangelical church…meets undertaker chic; and it’s surprising because you would think the woman with a penchant for shoplifting could have swiped a nice frock for the event.

This is the second time this week the masculine tailoring effect has left me feeling less than inspired; after Leighton Meester rocked up at the annual Gotham Independent Film Awards in a charcoal Thom Browne suit and tie. Although, at least she added some feminine touches in berry satin Ferragamo court shoes and an emerald green croc clutch bag.

Rihanna, Amanda Seyfried and Gywneth Paltrow have all previously worked the tailored look, so perhaps Winona should have consulted one of their stylists for advice on how to DO a suit; or even just looked in the mirror properly….before she went out and caused fashion carnage.

As I speak, the star is dialling 911 (or 999 if you’re a Brit, natch) to hand herself into the style police. It’s for the best.
