The beautiful French actress Melanie Laurent (Inglorious Basterds) flipped the switch on Paris’ Christmas light-fest on the Champs-Élysées this week. But among the twinkling and dazzling, something else caught my eye….

The I-want-it-NOW A/W ’10 black wool coat by Miu Miu she wore, which just screams hiver chic.

The coat features a noir and silver flower embellishment hem, high neck, puff sleeves and the most stunning bell-shaped silhouette; oh, and how much am I into the sexy pair of leather over-the-knee boots Laurent matched with her coat du jour?

THIS MUCH!! *stretches arms out*

And look, watch the video campaign for Miu Miu’s Fall collection here, (featuring the coat I have fallen in love with) which was filmed by her Madgesty (Madonna, obv).

So to square style with the current ‘brrr’ climate in the UK, keep those lambskin-lined aviators and cosy shearling boots; or lined military coats with All Saints ‘Damisi’ boots for the day; and then come night time, when cocktails call and the chill sets in (and not just the crushed ice in your Raspberry daiquiri), go for sophisticated sexy meets warm…another words…wrap up in Miu Miu, natch.
