It’s so uncool to be enthusiastic, but I laughed so hard I cried when I watched ‘The Hangover’; so unprofessional that I couldn’t take notes and kicked the seat of the critic in front of me… and didn’t care. The film, which made approx $450m on a reported $35m budget, was good and worked. But that was back in 2009.
*mirage dissolve* *sound of harps*
Now two more pieces of ‘The Hangover 2′ puzzle have emerged: 1) the plot and 2) if the sequel is going to lose the plot. After all, Zach Galifianakis – who played Alan Garner, the ‘slow’ one who hugs in underpants – said last week that the script for part II was better than part I, i.e. there’s more of him in it, I betcha.
So, apparently the script does start in Thailand with one of the characters waking up with a lady-boy. Okay, that’ll shock ‘em in Iowa and Hemel Hempstead (maybe not that last one). But get this: now Renee Zellweger’s supposed to come onboard as, erm, a girl the group meets. She’s won an Oscar. At least she could play the lady-boy who really isn’t or bind her chests to play a kind of Linda Hunt thing in ‘The Year of Living Dangerously’? Now that’d make me cry Oscar! one more time.
Bradley Cooper is still friends with Renee. Which is nice.
