Louis Walsh pulls out of X-Factor

X-Factor judge Louis Walsh will not appear on the live results show tonight as a mark of respect for Stephen Gately who died last night. Walsh is said to be ” very shocked and exceptionally upset”.

Walsh, who manages Boyzone will not however be travelling with the four other members of the band to Majorca, where Gately passed away at his home.

Sir Elton John led tributes to the singer today, saying he was the “kindest, gentlest soul” and Musical impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber added that Gately was “enormously talented”.

Devastated fans have posted tributes on Gately’s Facebook page, expressing sadness and disbelief at the news of his death.
